I know we've talked about this before, but I think I'm so concerned about getting the right words and the right progressions and rhythms (yes, really!) that I can't tell whether the smut works or is hot until someone else reads it and tells me! There have been times when I've read something I've written and thought "damn - did I write that?? - once I've forgotten it sufficiently to be able to read it as a "reader" rather than as someone trying to get the sentences to work properly.
But mostly writing smut makes me giggle at the sheer absurdity of what I'm doing! And I'm in good company - one of the first things Brad said on Sunday was that sex is funny :-) (To which Fenny helpfully pointed out that if it's not, you're not doing it right! I said we were full of the snark!)
