You know, since my Sky digibox packed up a couple of weeks ago (I've got a new one being installed soon) I haven't watched any telly! Okay, so this week, I've been back at work and having to drag my sorry ass to bed once I've finished whatever work I've had to do, but even before that, we've not watched anything, and haven't really missed it.

Maybe I should just scrap it and just download the stuff I want to watch!

I'm in a similar position. My cat broke my tv. I could pseudo-fix it by rerouting the signal (rca instead of coaxial via the vcr, if you care to know) but I've not been motivated to go to the trouble. The biggest problem for me is that my schedule does not align with primetime tv schedules at all. I get home too late to catch anything regularly and, to be honest, there's just nothing on right now that I'm particularly excited about.

I pretty much just download what I want to watch or watch streamed tv online. I should probably just cancel the cable all together but I keep thinking that I'll eventually get a new tv or something and then I'll want to flip around when I'm home from work (though I'm sure I'd just end up putting on something I've downloaded or some West Wing anyway).

I certainly agree. Being in Rural Australia when my foxtel goes on the blink its DVD and what we have downloaded already. Good thing friends often bring stuff to me in return for geek assitance.
