I know this is probably going to upset my transatlantic friends who are currently battling with large snowfalls... but this how stupid the weather is here in the UK.

We have butterflies in the garden.

Yes - you read that right. Butterflies. In the garden. On 23rd December.

What you need is to be up here where there are the HUGE overhanging icicles coming off roofs. Our neighbor's house looks just beautiful! I am hoping to get a pic sometime soon.

(And will ignore the fact that the giant icicles are bad for the roof and indicate damaging ice dams and stuff.)

When/if we do get any snow, the whole country seems to grind to a halt, because we're just not used to it.

I'm sure that where you are it looks very pretty - but that it's not so much fun if you have to go out in it.
