Oink *cough* oink!

Swine flu has reached my neck of the woods.

We're at stage 5 (of 6) on the WHO's pandemic scale, but so far, cases are relatively few and are mild - the guy mentioned in that article is at home. I also have to say that I think the media is - for once - actively helping the situation by not spreading doom, gloom and panic.

In our favour right now is the fact that we're moving out of our main flu season, although some are saying that that's a false optimism, because all it means is that we'll be hit by it later in the year.

Note to self - get a flu jab this year!

I have to do it :D

This was forwarded to me by my folks... someone has a really quick sense of humour!

"Somebody once said when a black person was elected and established in the White House ,would be the day that pigs would fly....

ONe hundred days into the Obama Administration... The Pigs Flu!"

I swear by the yearly flu shot. I used to get the flu every January and then bronchitis every February. Been taking the flu shot since 2004 and since then, no flu or bronchitis.

Stay well - you just got over being sick!!!

The school I trained at offered them to staff each year free of charge, but if I want one now, I have to pay because I'm not in any of the "risk" groups (people with heart problems, the elderly etc). Although I'd argue that working in a school does put me in a risk group! I'll have to try that one this year.

Actually, with what you just went through at the hospital, I think you'll find that your status has changed and you are at risk. Asthma is serious stuff.
