the problem with 'likely to end up' is that it's all in the interpretation of the viewer. Does Sam wind up with Mallory, Ainsley, Josh or an OC? Depends on who you ask and in which context they are viewing the eps. So really, while I prefer that in my head Sam either wind up with Ainsley in the end or pining away with unreciprocated love for Josh, it doesn't matter. I can do BOTH. Because, yes, it IS just fic. If you write it believably, building on the actual canon, you can do whatever you want.

(that said, you won't be hurt if I don't read Donna/Ten romantic fic, will you? The part I loved absolutely best about them is that they didn't have that outright romance like Rose or Martha. I firmly *want* to believe they were just pals, despite what may or may not have shown up on they screen.)
