I thought of you this weekend while I was in Chicago because I dragged my parents to Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House on the campus of the University of Chicago. It totally went over their heads, but I liked it. I wondered if you might have enjoyed it too.
The house is in unbelievable disrepair unfortunately, with precious little of the furniture. The plaster is cracking, the carpet was worn, and most of the lighting was bare bulbs because the original sconces had been lost and/or destroyed. None of the original drapes were up either.
Falling water is not too far from us, in Pennsylvania, which I'd like to see. There are also lots of FLW designed houses in Oak Brook, Illinois, including his house and studio, if I"m not mistaken.
