Jack's back (almost!)

I finally got around to watching 24 - Redemption earlier on. It was on a few weeks ago, but this is the first chance I'd had - Mr Caz isn't really a fan so I waited until he was going to be out of the house for a few hours :)

I don't know what the general reaction was, but I liked it overall. In fact, I think I prefer that format - a single story taking place over a couple of hours "real time". It was certainly easier to follow!

The new series starts here next weekend, I think. I've said for the last couple of years that I probably wouldn't be watching; fabulous as Jack is, the stories have gotten waaaay too silly - not that they weren't silly to start with, but they've gotten even more preposterous the last couple of seasons.

But I usually end up watching - Jack has a way of drawing me back in; so I imagine that's my Sunday nights sorted for the next 24 weeks!

I saw a trailer for it the other week and Jack is beginning to look decidedly middle aged. I've commented before that he seemed to be able to travel the length & breadth of LA and the surrounding area (I haven't seen the later seasons), getting kidnapped, losing his clothes, running out of ammo and somehow miraculously still managing to end up beating the baddies without ever needing to stop for a pee, petrol, food or dry cleaning. He's getting to the age now where he may need a bit of a sit down between sessions of torturing and being tortured.

I'm stunned to find that he's actually younger than me (still the Ultimate Age), but I bet he's getting to the point where a nice cup of tea is definitely preferable to getting the sh!t kicked out of him every time he leaves the office.

Well yeah, I was thinking when watching this one, that he should by rights look a bit like Edward Scissorhands considering the number of scars he must have!

Jack is back here around the same time, I think. I'll be watching, though my reasons are more because I find the show's growing absurdity amusing.

Though I think they've made some changes this season, so who knows? Maybe it'll be better?

I find the show's growing absurdity amusing - yep, same here. It's a case of how high I can suspend my disbelief!

I decided at the end of the last season that I was done because the show was just getting too ridiculous. Then I watched the movie. I'm sure Jack will draw me back in...

Yep, I was exactly the same... and at the end of the season before that. But I did like this movie... so yeah, I'll be back :)
