I'm really going to do it, this time.

Yes, it's early, but I'm going to spring clean my icon collection. To make it easier, I've just pasted them all into a document so that I can see them all at once and divide them into groups. (Anal? Moi? You bet!)

I was thinking I should put them on some sort of rotation... anyone out there do that? And if you do, what do you do?

All ideas gratefully received - no matter how daft! (Yes, I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] hooloovoo_42 and [livejournal.com profile] teresadivicenzo!)

I save them to folder on my computer and have categories. I'm so completely anal about it. I have folders for movies, tv, seasons, odds and ends, text only, travel, West Wing, Sports Night, etc. Within each folder I have other groupings. So within TV, I have folders for 30 Rock, The Office, Arrested Development, etc. (West Wing is a stand alone because there are just sooooo many.)

I open the folders up as thumbnails and can skim through and see the collection. I always save them with a name and then who created it so as to give proper credit.

So as the seasons change, my mood changes, when the situation calls for a specific icon, easy to find.

I warned you I was completely anal. I even color code folders in my office. No I don't have a problem.

Does it come as any surprise to you that I'm the same? I have TV icons (and like you, not only does WW have a category, but it's subdivided into "General WW", "Josh", "Donna" and "J/D"!) movie icons, seasonal icons (also divided into sub-folders) etc. etc.

I think this is going to take some time...
