I went into Colchester this morning. I needed to go to the music shop there to get a few things for school - Mr Caz takes Elinor swimming on a Saturday morning, so it was just me and Abigail.

Colchester is fairly well supplied with car-parks at not-too-extortionate prices - but even just after 10am, the one I went to was practically full and it took a while to find a space.

Recession? What recession?

Seriously, the srores here in NYC are more crowded than ever. It's insane.

I've been trying to be good about the shopping - necessities only. So far so good, but with spring coming I'm sure it's going to get harder to keep myself from indulging.

I don't know if it's because people are hoping to pick up a bargain or something, but the last couple of times I'e been into town, it's not seemed any less busy.

MK has been heaving the last couple of times I've been. As has Stratford when I have to shop there.

Is is just because we're expecting places to be empty that they look busy?

Nope. They're busy. The only times I've seen MK more crowded is when there's a big event like Collectormania (Scifi fan convention) going on.
