Actually, i just rewatched the entire series (thus far) in the past two days, and i'm still not seeing a progression. The Doctor still had to beg Amy to trust him, after being with him for four episodes. What is she doing still traveling with him if she doesn't trust him? When i saw the crack on the monitor, i was sure that it was why the Doctor felt he had to have Amy aboard (he pulled out all the stops to get her there), but then he promptly ignored/forgot the crack entirely, and acted like Amy wasn't even wanted, the very next episode. The week after that, he was leaving her behind. He has been nothing but dismissive the entire season. It doesn't add up.
