I agree with surliminal - I haven't gone back and rewatched TEH yet, but I do clearly remember that shot of Amelia looking up and smiling as she hears the sound of the TARDIS and then the cut to Amy waking up.
Also - when Amelia left the house to wait for the Doctor to come back, it was night. The shot of her we're talking about, it was day. I suppose the implication is that she waited out there all night, but again, where on earth is the aunt, letting her do that?!
As far as the Doctor begging Amy to trust him goes, I think we have to remember that in their timeline, it's only been days since she left home to travel with him, and, as so many people have pointed out, Amy does have some serious trust/abandonment issues.
Personally, I think too much is being made of those issues, but that's probably a discussion for another time.
