I expect this'll be everywhere tomorrow... but I just wanted an excuse to use it!

Fic alert!

So I'm coming around the last chicane and am on the home straight behind the wheel of the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van! I surrender the wheel at the end of the month, but still have a few stories to pimp! (and many more that I could have chosen, but haven't got the room for!)
Anyway, here's another one, for anyone who's interested. This is by Marguerite, a fabulous writer who isn't writing West Wing fic any more, having stopped some time mid-S5, I think.
Hers was among some of the first West Wing Fanfic I ever read, so naturally it stands out for that reason - but it stands out for other reasons as well. The story I've chosen, after much deliberation (because it's all so good!) is one set right at the end of Season 2, as a post-ep to "18th & Potomac", the episode in which Mrs Landingham is killed in a car accident.

My rambling in the "van" is here and the story, Strange Night With a Transfigured Communion can be found here
And I keep forgetting to say this, but please don't forget to send feedback to the authors!

Help!

caz963: (what? by coloneljack)
This is good... I think... I have a job interview at the end of next week! This is the time of year when teacher recruitment really steps up - I put the application for this job in the post on Saturday morning and got a phone call yesterday evening asking me to go for an interview next Friday! The school is in Colchester - strangely enough the school that the current head, and my current boss came from - and it's an "Arts College"... but it's supposed to be a bit... rough. I don't think we're talking molotov cocktails(!), and I guess, when you get to schools in a large town, you're going to come across more challenging behaviour (see what I did, there? dropped in a buzz word - kids who can't do as they're told are described as "challenging" *g*!)
But that doesn't really bother me - as long as the school has a cohesive policy in place so you know you'll get the backup when you need it, I don't have a problem.
What's bothering me more is the fact that I have to teach a class for half an hour at the interview! I knew I was going to have to do this at interviews - it's a standard thing. But my "blank page" neurosis has kicked in... when told I can teach whatever I like, my mind just empties for several DAYS whilst I panic about what I'm going to do!!
I expect I'll think of something... hopefully before Thursday night!
