Time for a picspam! This didn't start out as a "birthday" picspam because I've had it on the go for a while but... er, time kinda ran away with me and I couldn't get my arse into gear to finish it. And as I won't be around on Monday to post it, it's still not technically a birthday picspam. But is anyone going to quibble about that when there's so much pretty on display?

Thought not.

I admit, it took me a while to come up with a theme for this one. I could just have posted lots of random sexiness, but then I'd have been here all week, so in the end I came up with this. One of the things that always comes at or near the top of the list when I’m considering what I find attractive about a bloke is “a nice smile”.

Well, obvious connection is obvious ;-) Many’s the time that thousand-watt-grin has brightened up a crappy day, so here, in one handy helping is probably the world’s greatest pick-me-up.

And just for the hell of it, and because I might just be the teeniest bit obsessed with his bottom lip, there are some pics in here to which my initial reaction is pretty much always – MOUTH.

So without further ado, I present to you (a selection of) The Many Smiles, Smirks, Grins and Pouts of David Tennant.

WARNING: Prolonged staring at this picspam could be dangerous to your ... oh, who the hell cares?! )

I always have the feeling that I should Be Doing Something when I'm on school holidays. I managed to get the bulk of my planning done before the end of term, I finished my marking earlier in the week and all I've got left are a few odds and sods. The girls are at my mum's so Mr Caz and I have been doing stuff we've been meaning to do for ages - he's ripped out the bathroom carpet and put down tiles instead, we've been out and bought some odds and ends, got some dry cleaning done, took my watch to the repairers...

For the last couple of hours I've been sitting here wasting time on teh intertubez. I don't do tumblr (and tbh, have no idea what it is really!) but I stumbled across a link to something there which amused me and then wasted even more time by following other links... you know how it is.

There's a comm (I think) called Time and Relative Dimensions in Space which has some excellent DW related posts. I don't know what the reposting etiquette is, but here's some of the things I found to pass the time. I hope crediting that particular tumblr is sufficient - if I've done it wrong, please let me know and I'll correct it.

It's half-term and I've had a hectic couple of days so far this week. I took the kids out shopping yesterday and today we all schlepped to London and back for the Doctor Who Experience at Olympia.

It's been a mixed bag of a day, really. The DWE was pretty good - with one major drawback (more on that later) - and the kids thought it was awesome, which was the important thing. But tickets, train fares and a pizza afterwards hasn't left any change out of £200. For a day out. Ouch.

Everything's going to be fine... well, no, it's not fine, it's terrible! )

ETA: I've just seen the news that Nicholas Courtney has died :( RIP, Brigadier.

Having seen and been inspired by the housekeeping posts made by some of my f-listees, I thought I should probably have a look through all the fandom-related rambling I did in 2010 and see if it warranted organising. To my surprise, there was quite a lot of it.

Here, then are the thinky-thoughts, reviews, picspams, fanfic and meta that I posted last year:

It’s January 1st. Anyone who wasn’t expecting this doesn’t know me very well! *g*

Yes – it’s the first anniversary of the thing I still can’t watch. So instead of dwelling on that, here’s a truckload of nice pics of Ten, one (well, mostly one) per episode.

There won’t be anything here that’s not been seen before, but I’ve tried to choose pictures that I’ve not used (much) before, or that aren’t seen all that often. Some of them though – well, some of them are impossible to leave out!

So here we go – gorgeous Ten, cute Ten, sexy Ten, spexy Ten, emo Ten, daft Ten, geeky Ten… it’s a pretty arbitrary selection but hopefully there’s something here for everyone!

Oh, and don't expect too much by way of commentary. Looking through all that gorgeousness has pretty much fried my brain.

(I needed to resize some of the pictures, so if they look a bit disproportioned, just refresh the page.)

Allons-y! )

To say I’ve been looking forward to this one is an understatement! But it’s also impossible to choose just one favourite piece of music from Nu-Who. Murray Gold has done a fantastic job from Day One, and has, IMO just got better and better as the years have passed. I think the most impressive thing he’s done is re-vamp the original theme – it feels and sounds right (well, it did) but retains the feel of the original as well.

My favourite version though is the Series 4 one, that was used from VotD onwards. It’s not a lot different to the S1-3 theme, but it’s got added “oomph!” – especially in the drums and the ‘cellos and basses. Compared to the revamp for S5, the S4 theme has a grandeur that’s now sadly lacking :-(

Today I have to post about something that made me go "awww..."

I think there are different kinds of awww..., but I'm narrowing this down to two - and even then this is long!

I've been lookng forward to this one :-)

Day 17- Favourite Donna Moment )

Eeep! Another instance where it’s impossible to pick A favourite moment. So here are a few of my favourite Doctor moments. I've tried to choose different ones to what I've posted so far, but some of them are so awesome, they require duplication!

Day 13 - Favourite era visited by the Doctor & Co.

Hm. Bit of a odd one, this, because I'm generally more interested in whatever the story is that week than where it's set. I mean, I'm not likely to say "Ooh - I must watch that episode because it's set in medieval Germany!" *g* That said though, I do sit up and take notice when I know there's a "historical" episode coming because I'm a bit of a history geek and I like historical settings, (And yes, I'm taking the question of the day to mean "era in the past" rather than the future.) Also, the Doctor meets a famous "real life" person are some of my favourite stories in Nu-Who, which sort of narrows it down a bit.

So... I'm going to plump for Elizabethan London because that period of British history is probably my favourite.

Oh, gawd. Now, I freely admit to being the sort of person who cries easily at TV and films - I couldn’t bear to watch Lassie films as a kid! But the number of TV shows that have reduced me to tears is few – I really could count them on the fingers of one hand – and DW is waaaaaaay out in front in terms of the number of times it’s managed it. I wonder sometimes whether it’s the quality of the writing, or if there’s something wrong with me – and then I’ll read something on someone else’s LJ or at one of the comms and I realise it’s not just me who’s affected that way by this wonderful, infuriating TV show.

Day 11 - Scene/moment that makes you cry )
caz963: (DW Ten reminiscing)
Oh gawd. I can’t possibly choose just ONE favourite episode! In general, I tend to be the sort of telly-viewer who watches a show with the attitude that it’s not all going to be brilliant; that there will be ups and downs, good and bad, and I tend to concentrate on what’s good rather than what’s not. It doesn’t mean I can’t see the stuff that’s not so good, it means that I try not to get too hung up on it. Most of the time, I succeed ;-)

But this does say favourite episode, rather than episode I think has the most artistic merit or whatever. And of course, I don’t really have A favourite – I have several.

Pop quiz – name that episode!

Oh, I know there are loads of these about today, but what the hell?! I was a little under two months old when this guy was "born" and it's always nice to remember that he's the same age as me (and no, I'm not 907!)

Happy Birthday Doctor! )

The battle of teh hawt is still raging among the DFGs, and after my post yesterday, I got to thinking about some of the other hot men I enjoy looking at, but who wouldn't have been termed "hot". Rather, they'd have been called "handsome" or described as "matinee-idols" and the like - because they're "old time" film stars. Old films are another thing I geek out over, in case you hadn't noticed!

caz963: (DT grin)
Last night, my fellow DFGs and I embarked upon a very serious discussion as to the hotness - or otherwise - of a number of the objects of our fangirl affections.

And by serious, I mean we threw an obscene amount of pretty around teh interwebz!

Needless to say, there was some agreement and some discord, mostly about the fact that Fenny and I are rather 'meh' about Nathan Fillon - but it just goes to show how true the old adage is. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

It also gives me the excuse to post pictures of a stupendous amount of pretty and hotness.

And, you know, some other blokes who aren't David Tennant.
