... no, not in the Constitution - on the back of the S7 box set. There is apparently an episode entitled "Election DAT Part 2."

Honestly!

Disclaimers: I own nothing, I’m making nothing… these wonderful characters were created by Aaron Sorkin and belong to Sorkin, Wells and NBC. I’m just taking them out for a spin and will return when I’ve finished with them. Although I might need to hang on to Josh for a while …

Being anally retentive about that sort of thing, I proofed it myself, so any mistakes are mine!

Category/Pairing: J/D, bit of angst, bit of fluff…

Spoilers: Up to Drought Conditions, S6, but strays from canon (of course)!

Rating: PG

A/N: It struck me, after all the romantic angst of King Corn and that excruciating elevator ride, that by Drought Conditions Josh and Donna seemed to be on reasonable terms, which certainly lasted for the rest of the season. So I thought that maybe they’d found time to have a little chat at some point, and after the Gala at the end of that episode seemed like a good time. But being me, I couldn’t resist the fluff, so we’re off canon by the end …

A/N 2: As per usual, huge smackeroonies for [livejournal.com profile] quaggy_mire and [livejournal.com profile] coloneljack who put up with my insecurities, my continual fiddling and who put me straight when I can’t see the wood for the trees! And also a huge thank you to Chai - with whom I have had many in-depth “Josh discussions”- (our favourite topic!) for her valuable insight.

A/N 3: (Sorry!) I should also point out (and it’ll be pretty obvious once you’ve read this!) that I’m very much in the “wtf, Donna?” camp when it came to the whys and wherefores of Josh and Donna’s … estrangement… in S6. Let’s face it, she was pretty nasty to Josh at times (peppermint ice cream, anyone?) and even though I won’t argue with the fact that she needed to leave, I do take issue with the way she did it (and her timing was crappy!) I’m not saying that Josh doesn’t have to take his share of the blame, because he does, but my view is that he was just being his normal, romantically challenged self – exacerbated by the fact that he’d only recently admitted to himself that he’s head over heels and ass backwards in love and hasn’t got a clue what to do about it. (Oh yeah, and because he’s still processing the fact that he nearly lost the love of his life in a car-bombing). I know there are still some pretty divided opinions out there about this… and this is mine. Just so you know!

I’ll shut up now and let you read! )
