Jan. 12th, 2008 05:41 pmI was really surprised to learn that ITV had commissioned a new series of Primeval. In fact, I think they announced it at the end of the series last year - and I was baffled then.
I mean, my kids liked it and it was clearly trying to fill the "Doctor Who gap" on a Saturday evening, but really - they must have spent all the budget on the special effects because they obviously didn't use it to employ a decent writer. Actually, I don't think they employed a writer full stop, most of the dialogue was so bad.
So I'll do something else while that's on and then I'm going to give the new series of ER a go. I stopped watching a couple of years back, after Carter left. Not for that reason, but that was the year I let practically everything except WW go because I was training and just didn't have the time for a lot of telly. But I see Stanley Tucci is in it, and he's always watchable - I still haven't forgotten his stint as "the Prince of Darkness" in the original Murder One.
And then after that, I shall wibble as Josh wishes he had a living father who was a felon or a sister with a past (*sigh*) and mentally abuse Donna for being so thick.
