Hiya! Back from a few days in London with Mr Caz and the kids.

We're absolutely knackered as we walked our feet off around Greenwich, the Tower of London and the British Museum, and had a good fright-night on Friday with [livejournal.com profile] hooloovoo_42 and [livejournal.com profile] teresadivicenzo, both of whom came dressed for the occasion!

I'll post a bit more once I've finished the unpacking; I just wanted to swing by and say that I'm back. Have I missed anything important? *g*

How awesome is this??

It's years since I've seen Waiting for Godot - maybe a return visit is in order...

I'm really enjoying the Beeb's new adaptation of Little Dorrit. The cast list reads like "Thesps Anonymous", although I can't help comparing it with the 1988 film version, which is definitely worth seeking out if you haven't already seen it. It, too, boasts a cast to die for - the incomparable Alec Guiness as William Dorrit, Derek Jacobi as Arthur Clenham, Eleanor Bron as Mrs Merdle and a wonderfully menacing Max Wall as Flintwinch.

But the Beeb adaptation also boasts a fabulous pedigree, not the least of which is the fact that it's an Andrew Davies adaptation. Now, I know that people adapting novels don't just lift huge chunks of dialogue out of the book. BUT - surely, Fanny Dorrit's use of "you're cramping my style", is less than Dickensian?
