Today - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

I've been wracking my brains on this one, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to admit defeat.

I’m pretty exacting when it comes to TV these days and if I stick something on and it hasn't grabbed me by the end of the first episode, I tend not to bother with it any more. I’m sure I’ve missed some good stuff that way, but I don’t get a lot of time to myself these days, so I tend to be a bit ruthless when it comes to what I'm going to watch on TV. If I wasn’t taken with something on first viewing, I’m unlikely to have gone back to it.

Finally.

We've got a new Prime Minister.

On the one hand, I'm glad all the shilly-shallying is over.

On the other, it's David Cameron.

This will be the first time we've had a coalition government since WWII. I'm not averse to the idea, and if the electoral reforms the Lib Dems are after are made, it's going to happen a lot more often.

The deal with the Lib Dems isn't done though - there's more discussion going on and I heard on the news earlier that they're trying to reach a 3-4 year deal. It seems right now that both sides involved are being quite pragmatic; they know the electorate is pissed off with them and they're treading carefully.

I have to say that Gordy looked incredibly relieved when making his resignation speech. Not that I blame him - we're up the creek and Cameron and Clegg are inheriting one helluva poisoned chalice.
