She gave me five random questions -
1. Do you have any tattoos? If not would you, and what of?
I have an abject horror of tattoos and piercings (I don't even have pierced ears). So no, absolutely, definitely not and no, never, NOT EVER!
2. What's your favourite and least favourite aspects of being a teacher?
Oh, God. How long have you got? Quickly - favourite - I like the idea that somehow, I can make a difference to someone. Even if it's only one kid who can come out of a lesson and thinks they've learned to do something they couldn't do before or discovered that they enjoyed something they didn't think they would.
Least favourite - poor behaviour, no manners, respect, or regard for anyone other than themselves, little or no self-control, a predisposition not to want to try to do ANYTHING that might require just the tiniest little bit of effort on the part of the majority of kids I've taught over the past four and a bit years.
Oh, and the ridiculous amount of paperwork and jumping through hoops that is often required.
3. Tell me one thing about being a mother that no one ever tells you.
Blimey! People always DO say that you'll love your kids no matter what - but what they can't prepare you for is that absolute, utter and total LOVE you discover im yourself when they actually arrive. I don't remember a great deal about the actual birth of either of my kids - it was all a bit traumatic what with them being emergency deliveries and all - but the one thing I do remember is that astonishing, overwhelming, huge THING that hit me.
4. When Bradley Whitford got divorced did you have a tiny voice in the back of your mind that said "Ooh now he and Janel Moloney can get together?"
Hah! Is he divorced yet? And wasn't that question supposed to be - "ooh, now he's available I'm off over there"? *g*
Um... thinking about it, I probably did, yeah ;-)
(But as to point two, while Brad's got the tash, my ticket is to Scotland!)
5. Wine, beer, cider or spirits? Or none of the above!
In the days when I actually drank alcohol, mostly wine with the occasional G&T or Amaretto. Thing is, alcohol generally sends me to sleep, and I don't tend to need a lot of help with that these days! Also, when you have young kids, there's always the thought at the back of your mind that you might need to drive them somewhere in an emergency, so being over the limit might not be a good idea just in case.
If you want to play, comment and I'll ask you five questions.
