I liked the episode as well. The plot was internally consistent (which is not always a given for Dr Who) and more importantly, the solutions were clever, yet all the information was available to the viewer (see previous parentheses).
I did love the minor characters as well. Foon and husband were very well developed in a short space of time and their deaths were something that I cared about.
