Your sum up of Max Warp was so, so spot on it made me laugh.

As far as the Eighth Doctor goes, I think he is the most balanced Doctor. He has a bit of all of them going on. The best thing about him is that at times he seems very human, and when you least expect it he does the opposite of what you would assume. For example, when a companion is utterly lost. He walks away, obviously cross and greiving, and then he lets it go. None of this pining for series and series after the fact business. He has a Universe to explore! Not to say that Eight forgets (except for when he has amnesia, granted) he is just able to bottle it better than any other Doctor.

The Timelords - I come from the opposite end of the viewership. I grew up with Doctor Who. Romana (both of them), The Meddling Monk, The Rani, The Master, The Cellestial Intervention Agency etc. I still can't quite understand RTD's decision to cut our Gallifrey altogether. It is such a shame, and bringing back the Master (being my least favourite Gallifreyan) did not make up for it. I like that the Doctor is a renegade. That's as it should be. Being a survivor/perpetrator of genocide is no fun at all.

I am still hoping that someone wil have sense to give us a Timewar backflash with McGann at some point on the tv. He deserves it.
