That's true - although Eight's situation was slightly different. I can't say much without giving it away, but when it happens at the end of To the Death it's really quite shocking. Not just what happens, but his involvement in it.
I can highly recommend Eight's audios with Lucie, if you're not familiar with them. They've got a bit of a Ten/Donna vibe going :)
