Ah, but her love isn't unrequited. :-) And, they're really not quite the OTP--they're the 'missed it by THIS much' pairing. What's the WW line about the satellite? Not feet, but miles?
I think the lack of bow tie ability displays that very well. They have the desire to 'tie it up', but not the skills necessary.
He's complex, and complex characters make me happy.
