I watched the Pilot a few weeks ago and remembered that line, and the flirting in the hotel room about going away for the weekend etc. which of course, was just that - flirting. I just wonder how much of our accepting now that she wanted him from the beginning is coloured by hindsight. Yes, there was always something between them, but I'm not sure it was as strong as wanting to get married! (But like I said, it's also totally understandable - who wouldn't want him?!)
Having said that though, it was sweet and it's a minor niggle which didn't in any way spoil a fantastic episode.
