I just posted another fic rec to the
crack_van - Like Zeppelin in a Four-Star Restaurant by KHo
It's a Josh and Leo piece inspired by the events we see in Bartlet for America - Leo falls off the wagon, and Josh picks up the pieces.
The characterisation is totally spot on - everything about Josh - his need to fix things, his stubborness, the fact that he "doesn't leave people" are all here, and more - and Leo - also perfect -
He’s feeling almost sober now, but he’s still not all there. He’s hysterical, and he’s afraid, and he’s ashamed, so he reaches up and covers his face, taking deep breaths before even trying to think about how to answer Josh’s question. “I fucked up.”
“Yeah,” Josh says, and he actually laughs. Leo looks at him and there’s a small smile on Josh’s face as he laughs again. He raises his eyebrows at Leo and reaches out to grab his hand. “Leo I got that much on my own.”
Leo takes another deep breath and looks away from Josh, because Josh isn’t naive but sometimes he looks so sweet and innocent, with those wide eyes that always looked at him like he had the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. “What happened with the Governor?”
He can see Josh’s frown without even opening his eyes. “Don’t worry about it.”
Go read - and take it slow - there are references and nuances by the bucketload and I'd hate you to miss any!
