OK, so this is really late, but I wanted to re-watch the ep. before I put "pen to paper" and only managed to do that a couple of days ago. Opinion is divided, but I liked this episode a lot. (It was, of course, pretty Josh-centric, which undoubtedly accounts for that!)
So... a long teaser in this one, including the "Jet Airliner" montage (I had the song on the brain for days...) I quite liked it - not something I think TWW has done before, but it worked well, I thought. And obviously whoever chose it (Snuffy?!) was completely on the ball as far as the lyrics are concerned. I mean, over shots of Josh, working alone late at night in his office we get lines like... "Goodbye to all my friends at home, goodbye to people I've trusted." Perfect - here he is, having left his "family" at the WH behind, more specifically, he doesn't have Donna with him, and he has serious trust issues (last ep. "I've got an aircraft hanger full of people out there lookin' to me for direction, I've got a candidate who doesn't trust any of 'em, and, frankly, neither do I...") Then there's reference to "you have to go through Hell before you get to Heaven". Well, if that wasn't a blatant Donna-shout, I don't know what is.( Read more... )
