2007 TV watching...
Dec. 31st, 2006 01:01 amThis is me being very lazy, but I don't get to watch a huge amount of TV, and last year I got to watch even less, due to the amount of paperwork I was doing while I worked and qualified. So what I want to know now, is - what are the must-see shows for next year? (Bearing in mind that we get them later than they air in the US).
Ugly Betty starts here next week, and I've heard good things about that, so I'm going to make a point of watching it. And then in a couple of weeks, Jack's back! Day Six of 24 starts... I know, I know, it's hokum, but I love it and I'm hooked!
I expect there'll be a new bunch of CSIs soon too, although I only watch the Vegas one. I missed most of S5, and am just catching up with 6, although I've missed some of that, too. The new series of ER starts next week as well. Now, I didn't watch last season; although I'd been with the show since the beginning, I just didn't have the heart to watch it any more. No idea why - maybe it was Carter's departure, I don't know... but I'm wondering whether to pick it up again. Anyone want to fill me in on last season? Same with Desperate Housewives. I watched (and enjoyed) the first season, but just wasn't able to find time to keep up with it. I gather season two was a bit lacklustre, but anyone out there watching S3 - is it any good? And will I be able to pick it up? (Catch up, anyone?) I've seen something about Jericho being worth a watch as well... thoughts?
Let me know if there's anything you think I should watch out for.
As for UK stuff, well, I'm eagerly awaiting the next series of Life on Mars (which I read is going to be the last) and of course we'll have new Doctor Who in the Spring (I guess - that was when it started last year.) Other than that, I don't tend to watch a lot of homegrown drama - I'm not really into the long running shows, and I don't watch soaps, and I haven't heard yet about any new shows that have really made me think "ooh - I must watch that!" - but please prod me if you think there is something out there like that!
