Well, let's face it, there was no way DT wasn't going to win, was there? I know there were only 4 episodes this year, but the last three were relatively recent compared to the other nominees. And as this is a viewer-voted show, the things that are most recent tend to win. Not that he didn't deserve it though - I mean, I love Philip Glenister, but David Tennant in those last episodes was in a class of his own.

Up against the other nominees (I think Philip Glenister didn't get the memo about being called David!), there was no way he wasn't going to win. I don't watch any other UK telly to know whether there were really any viable alternatives - I doubt it very much.

I don't think there were to be honest - not that I watch much either, but I'm sure we'd have heard if there had been anyone else who'd been as good.
