30 Days of TV - Day Sixteen

Today I have to post about my Guilty Pleasure Show.

*scratches head*



I'm not sure I have one. I'm taking the wording to mean "the show I watch that I'd never want to own up to in a million years" (*rolls eyes at zinke*) but I really don't have a dirty secret like that! Not even a sligtly dusty one - well, not when it comes to telly-watching, anyway. I really don't watch a huge amount of television, so when I do it tends to be things I've switched it on for!

So I'll have to re-interpret the whole "guilty" thing and suggest instead that my guilty pleasure show is something like Leverage.



It's easy to watch, a lot of fun, well written and has great characters. The reason I can put it into this category is, I suppose because it's the sort of show I can switch my brain off to watch. Not that television has to be intellectually taxing (the majority of it isn't!) - but my stupid brain feels that it should be working harder, which makes me feel guilty, so... QED. Guilty pleasure show!

Hey, I love Leverage! I enjoyed the first season, but after watching to the end of the 2nd, it's almost become an obsession. I just got the S1 DVDs and am listening to all the commentaries. I even replaced my Who desktop wallpaper with a Leverage one (which is saying something!). What is it about the show? I really don't know, because it is rather silly. Perhaps it's Nate's brokenness, as he's my favorite character. But I like all the other characters too.

I've still got to finish watching the post-hiatus episodes of S2, but I hope to get around to it soon.

I think Nate's my guy, too - but there's absolutely no way he and/or the gang are going to replace my rotation collection of DW/Tennant wallpapers! *g*

Mmmmm...Nate. I do love a good broken, self-loathing character. But I have to say that I don't feel the slightest bit guilty for enjoying this show!

Well, I don't feel that guilty! It's just that for some stupid reason, I often feel as though I should be watching TV that makes me think rather than for entertainment! I have NO IDEA why that is... and I really don't have a secret OMG-this-is-so-bad-I-can't-admit-I-watch-it show!
