This is depressing...

I mean, hubby and I were talking this morning working out which schools and clubs and stuff go back when. A sure sign that the summer hols are drawing to a close. Not that it feels much like summer right now - August has been fairly crappy so far; oh we've had the odd nice day here and there, but basically? Windy, overcast and a fair bit of rain. Typical British summer.
I start my new job on the 4th Sept.(training day) and as yet still have no idea whether I will actually be getting any work (the way it works is that I'm "accredited", which basically means I'm on the list of perpiatetic music teachers, but there's no guarantee of work), and if I am getting work, how many days, hours, whatever. I would hope I will find this out before the 4th, but who the hell knows. I could have built myself up a roster of private clients maybe, but the thing is, as I intend to keep looking for a permanent school-based job, I didn't want to then be in a position where I had to dump the private work after a few months if I find one.
I don't do well with this kind of uncertainty.
On a positive note, I have two new fics finished and practically ready to go, and another one in progress. I expect I'll have to slow down come September (assuming I haven't burned out by then anyway!)
And I'm getting bored with my layout, so I think it's time for a change...
Oh, look... it's pissing with rain again...
