Aaaarrrggghhh!!!

How many bloody times do I have to remind kids to put their fucking NAME on their fucking HOMEWORK??!

They're aged from 11-13 and so they shouldn't NEED reminding, but I do it anyway - and they STILL forget!

So now, I'm going to have to wait until I get back to school to finish logging the grades and all the other little pissy bits and pieces I have to do.

We don't give points as such, so I can't take any off - I just give them a bollocking next time I see them.

It means I can't get it all marked and logged cleanly so it's DONE and I don't have to think about it any more, you know? And I've been at this all afternoon and am not even half way through yet!

I run our university conservation group, to which people sign up by e-mail. I constantly have to call out peoples e-mail addresses at the beginning of a task because adults don't remember to include their names!

There are times when I wish our education system was a little more like the US, where kids' grades are a reflection of the work they do, not the effort the teachers put in. If it was an automatic fail to not put their name on, it would make such a difference.

I tend to mark on effort as well - if I can see a kid has really tried even if what they've handed in isn't especially 'polished', I'll give them a decent grade.

But I've just marked a set where I've got more without names than with. What the fuck are the Primary schools DOING? I'm sure I had it drummed into me to PUT MY NAME ON THINGS!

It's such a pain, because although I've marked the work, I now have to wait until I see those kids to find out whose it is so that I can record the marks.
