Not that I'm complaining, but...

... it appears that we're in for a mini-Tennant-fest this month.
Next week, he's appearing with Catherine Tate on The Graham Norton Show (Friday 15th, 10.35pm) - presumably to talk about Much Ado and, if the tabloids are to be believed, he might talk about becoming a Dad. But I'm really not bovvered about that. I'm delighted everything went well, and have nothing but good wishes for him and his new family, but he's a very private person and to be honest, I don't blame him. He's famous, yes, but he's famous because he's talented (and gorgeous), and he's obviously more than happy to interact with people - fans and journalists/interviewers alike - when it's about that particular aspect of his life. But other than that, it's "back off" and good luck to him. The press in this country has a nasty habit of ripping into celebrities the minute they put a foot wrong (and sometimes, even when they don't) so I have absolutely no problem with his decision to keep his personal life under wraps. In fact, I find it rather impressive that the majority of journalists etc. seem to like and respect him enough to leave him alone most of the time.
Anyway, back to the point. It appears that the drama about the Munich air disaster - United - is to air in a couple of weeks rather than in the autumn as seems to have been originally thought, and in the same week, we're getting Murray Gold's Kafka - The Musical on Radio 3.
Much Ado opens in mid-May so I imagine there'll be an interview junket for that as well, so our Tennant-starved existence is coming to an end for now, at least.
I'm not sure when Decoy Bride is coming out (I thought it was around May, but I don't know where I got that from) but Fright Night is scheduled for August in the US. Mind you, he's going to be a bit tied up until the beginning of Sept, so he probably can't be part of the press junket for that in the US, but hopefully he'll be doing the rounds for the UK release.
Wonder what he's got lined up after that. ;-)

(And one thing I love about David Tennant is that he is such a Catherine Tate fanboy!)

Date: 2011-04-09 06:54 pm (UTC)YES!!!
(I just made this icon; it's from "The Stolen Earth" - the way he looks at Donna when she says "I'm a Human Being. Maybe not the stuff of legend, but every bit as important as Time Lords, thank you."
I love the look on his face!)
But of course, he would never admit to such a thing. ;-)
Of course! ;-)

Date: 2011-04-09 08:16 pm (UTC)- run a close second by the "that's my girl" look from The Sontaran Stratagem
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm fairly convinced DT was playing Ten as somewhat smitten because I can't believe that such a good actor would let things like that slip through accidentally.

Date: 2011-04-09 03:26 am (UTC)As for the Fright Night opening, I do wish that he had made a few days break in the Much Ado scheduling so that he could come here and do some interviews/entertainment shows. However, people don't NEED to be in the studio these days so they could tape segments with him still in London.

Date: 2011-04-09 02:36 pm (UTC)I'm gutted about not being able to see Much Ado. I hope you'll post at length about it so I can enjoy it vicariously!!

Date: 2011-04-09 08:19 pm (UTC)It's no mean feat, either, given that he's one of the most recognisable men in the country.
I'm sure I shall fangirl a great deal about Much Ado - I'll be seeing it three times (at last count!) so with any luck there will be plenty to talk about! I've just read that you're going to be seeing Derek Jacobi in Lear and now I'm jealous! I love him, but have never managed to see him on stage, which is very remiss of me.
