I don't like this one, and it's not just because I'm a Rose fan (which I am). It really takes School Reunion out of context.
Rose's main beef is that the Doctor (both Nine and Ten) never mentioned his previous companions to her. He was obviously very close to Sarah Jane at one point - and then completely abandoned her, never to speak of her again. And for all Sarah Jane knew, the Doctor was dead or imprisoned. He just left - and vanished. This is all right there in the dialogue.
Prior to this, sure Rose knew he was 900 years old - but he never mentioned traveling with anyone else, or that he had a lot of human companions. For all she knew, he had been puttering around on Gallifrey until the Time War and had never been friends with a human before. She had no reason to suspect otherwise.
Rose thought she and the Doctor were getting very close, and of course it hurts to think that she might just be ditched without a second thought, despite all they'd been through. From the dialogue in School Reunion, SJS clearly understands this too ("Some things are worth getting your heart broken for") - both she and Rose are now well aware of what the future might hold.
(And, although yes she will inevitably get ditched - hey, she gets her own personal Doctor at the end! Which is more than anyone else in Who history can say. And he obsesses over her for pretty much all of a season following her departure. So on those two fronts, she is pretty special to him, indeed!)
