Cazlet #2 did her flute exam today. She said it went "perfectly" and wanted to go back in and do it all over again, which I suppose is a good thing!

Results in 10-14 days, but I know she's passed. I'll be surprised if she doesn't get a merit (120/150) at the very least, and I'm expecting a distinction! (130/150)

I can't tell you how proud I am - and I make sure I tell her so, too. It's incredible, how far she's come in a few months and she's still coming on leaps and bounds. I bought her some new music books recently, with Christmas songs in, which also has a CD of backing tracks, and she's not stopped playing them. The good thing is that most of them are just that little bit more difficult than the stuff she's learned for her exam, so she's pushing herself a bit without realising. I've said before that I've tried hard to make sure that I wasn't pushing either of them into playing just because it's my "thing" - but fortunately, they're both musical and enjoy playing and singing.

I'll have to record her and post it so you can all hear what I'm bragging about!
