Hee!
Another fab Doctor Who - but then I love the Daleks, so anything with them in is alright by me!
This was the first of a two parter, so the pace could afford to be a bit slower; the Doc and Martha arrive in New York during the depression, when the Empire State Building is under construction. 'Down and Outs' are disappearing to no one knows where...
Meanwhile, there are strange pig-men-creatures inhabiting the sewers, where the Doc finds some really ickky looking green slime - which turns out to have originated on Skaro.
There are only 4 daleks left, but as the doc says bitterly later on, "they always survive". The pig slaves turn out to be the results of genetic experiments undertaken on those of lesser intelligence. (Bites back comment about some of the kids I teach...)
And the daleks have come up with a way to evolve - the scene in which the architect is sucked into the dalek-sek was fab - the kids were all "eeeeeeeew!" whilst watching intently! Exactly what Doctor Who is all about!
And I loved the final scene with the emergence of the Dalek/Human hybrid.
Lines of the night -
Oh, he's into musical theatre!
and
You can kiss me later... Frank too, if he wants to. heh.
Usually, these two parters have a blinding second ep, so here's hoping next week is no different. Flying daleks! Woohoo!
ETA I didn't post about last week's ep, because I didn't see it until later in the week, but a thought - the Face of Boe said that the Doctor "is not alone". Presumably, he means there's another Time Lord out there. Well... isn't The Master a Time Lord, too?

Not really sure how I felt about this episode though. It's actually the first one I've managed to see with the new companion, and... Is she always that annoying? *makes face*
David Tennant, however, is wonderful. *fondles*
