I've been wracking my brains over this for MONTHS - and I've pestered most of the other WW geeks fans I know, so now I'm throwing this out there in the hope that someone in LJ-land knows the answer.
Are we ever told what Amy Gardner's job was when she was at the WLC?
I've searched through some of the S3 transcripts and so far come up with a blank.
Any ideas?

Ma'am, I spent a year and a half as issues director for NOW, two years as political director of Emily's List, founder of the Democratic Women's forum, AA to Hope Schrader and Director of the Women's Leadership Coalition.
That doesn't really help though. "Director" ? So I'm going with either Issues Director or Political Director.

She could also be a legislative director - someone who guides legislative change from the perspective of a non-profit.

Date: 2007-10-07 02:43 am (UTC)According to: http://westwing.bewarne.com/amy.html
she was director of the WLC.
My experience with smallish non-profits is that usually a body wears many hats -- she did fund-raising but her main thrust seemed to be whipping votes aka political liaison stuff.
Did you see my lj post about Sara Botsford? Ha!

Date: 2007-10-07 12:02 pm (UTC)I did! How amusing ;)
Thanks for the info - I can work with that. I just wanted to make sure I didn't work around it and then have someone tell me "well actually, she was xxx, next time do your research properly!" - because, as you know, I'm all about the details!

I beat back five anti-choice judicial nominees, got the Violence Against Women Act re-authorized with a Republican majority and raised $22 million for House candidates."

Date: 2007-10-08 05:27 pm (UTC)I'll go with "director" I think, because it's close enough (and vague enough!). Seriously, it's only for a passing comment, but I obssess about small details! :) Watch this space - hopefully, I'll be posting the fic in a day or so!
