Odd how these things work out - we got Holy Night a few weeks after Christmas, but Evidence of Things Not Seen was on tonight, not too far away from the Vernal Equinox. (Which is next week).

Not sure I'll be trying out any egg balancing though!

I'm guessing that Brad and Matt's interaction in this was one of the things that led to Studio 60 - even though Brad wasn't signed on until fairly late in the day, you can't tell me that Sorkin didn't have him in mind when he wrote the first script.

Anyway - a trip down memory lane -

The boys when they were Joe and Josh…

Honourable mentions to -

Donna trying to convince herself Josh she doesn't really think he's handsome... and powerful.

Josh trying to decide whether she's serious or not.

Matt looking cute.

Brad looking cuter.

Who's Will, sir?

Josh not being able to understand how anyone could not like Donna seeing as she's from Wisconsin...

And one of those fairly rare scenes of complete honesty between our favourite non-couple.

Mouth.

And because [livejournal.com profile] hooloovoo_42 would never forgive me for leaving him out –

We’re back up, everyone.

Probably one of my fave eps ever. How the hell can it be five years old?

*sigh*

I think one of the things I miss most (and probably close to the ONLY thing I miss) about S60 is that there's no more Matt and Brad. ::whimper::

But this was love and makes me happy. :)

Yeah, they worked so well together, it's a shame they'll probably never get to do that again :(

Glad I've brightened your day!

You know that I was jumping up and down when Ron came in. I think I'm going to start a Ron'n'Fitz community :-)

I was just looking for caps of Donna drooling over Joe when Josh sussed he was a *Republican*.

JOSH
'Cause if you're a Republican, then you damned well better look like Ainsley Hayes.

DONNA
He does! [beat] He will to others.

but there don't seem to be any of that bit.

I was wondering about buying eggs next Friday, but maybe I'll just give it a miss.

Also, this ep provides 2 of my favourite iconses.

I don't think there's actually a shot of her "drooling" is there? (Or maybe I missed it because I was busy looking elsewhere!)

According to Wiki, the Equinox is on 20th this year. If I buy any eggs, they'll be chocolate ones!

Not *quite* drooling, but looking remarkably interested. He *is* a Republican, after all!

Yeah, but she was probably only pretending because Josh is the only one she thinks is handsome... and powerful. ;-)

But Joe is available and Josh is her boss - even if he is handsome...and powerful...and insists she address him as "Wild Thing"!

my dumb ass parents vetoed my West Wing watching decision and put a movie on instead.

*grumbles*

This is exactly why i need to get a real job, one that pays real money, and move out. Hmph.

Thanks for the picspam though!

See, that's the truly baffling thing! It was them who got me into the show in the first place! They love it about as much as I do, apparently just not at 9pm last night. :(

You should insist they buy you the full set of DVDs on the grounds that you will never have to disrupt their viewing ever again. As long as they buy you a DVD player to watch them on, too!

hehe, we have a fair amount of them. Or rather they have them. I'm waiting until the glorious day i stop being a lowly intern and start earning actual money and i can buy the full boxed set for my own viewing pleasure.

To think when I first watched that episode, I only cared for Matthew, now Brad has overtaken the number one spot... but holy moly, they are just too much for me to watch together.

I absolutely LOVE this episode. Brad and Matt are amazing together, I miss them :(

It's a terrific episode - I was never a Friends watcher although of course I knew who Matt was, and I remember thinking at the time that he was really good and hoping it'd lead to different things for him.

I recorded "Fools Rush In" in a moment of weakness the other week. I was checking the tape and watched the first 20 minutes before TWW last night, not knowing that this was the first Joe episode.

I've recently come to understand that this might just be my fav episode, too. There's no part of it I don't absolutely enjoy. I love CJ and Toby, esp. How could one not?

It just sings, on so many levels.

(Also, there is a possibility that I've been drinking. Just sayin'.)

Somebody should write a sitcom for them and the rest of the casts of TWW, S60 and SN (all the same people anyway!). There could be an episode where they all dreamed they worked at the WH, or in a television studio, or were characters in MASH!

Am I the only one who, during that last scene with Josh and Donna, sees her lightly resting her hand against the door and knows she's thinking she'd rather be putting it on his chest...

Or, wait - is that just what I'm thinking? Huh.

Either way, great episode.

"We're not going to need that three of clubs?"

and

"I believe that's a myth." lmao

along with the whole handsome and powerful bit... brilliant!

Um, no.

Except it's not Donna thinking it...

I would wager a guess that many of the thoughts that flash through Donna's brain with regards to Josh's chest also flash through ours.

Same can be said for thoughts about his arms... and back... and yeah, this is about to need a higher rating so I'll just leave the rest to your imagination. We both know it was going there anyway...

for those of you planning to buy eggs... go ahead and get the chocolate ones. I've actually done that whole balancing the egg thing and it does work but it has nothing to do with the equinox, I've done it at different times of the year and I have no idea why it works but it can be done. I will admit the first time I did it was on the equinox after I saw this episode.

No, I don't mind at all - welcome!

Feel free to poke about - there are lots of picspams here (I think they're all tagged correctly!) and my West Wing fic (mostly Josh/Donna) is all to be found here (http://caz963.livejournal.com/46574.html). :-)
